A selection of print and editorial design created for Penguin Random House and independent clients, spanning brochures, editorial layouts, posters, environmental graphics, and marketing collateral. My work focuses on strong typography, clear information hierarchy, and translating brand systems effectively into physical formats.

Queens Jazz Trail Map

The Queens Jazz Trail Map was commissioned by Flushing Town Hall to restore and update a historic map designed to introduce visitors to the rich history of jazz in Queens through an engaging self-guided trail.

When the project was brought to me, the original map had become visually outdated and contained misspelled names, printing errors, and information that needed to be corrected. Rather than completely redesigning the piece, my role was to preserve the character and historical value of the original while giving it a cleaner, more polished presentation for a modern audience.

I was responsible for reorganizing and updating several visual elements, repositioning and replacing figures on the map, correcting text and spelling errors, refining the typography, and improving the overall layout. I also designed a companion brochure that incorporated the map on one side and supporting information on the reverse, establishing the typography, color palette, and page structure.

The completed restoration helped renew interest in the Queens Jazz Trail and gave Flushing Town Hall an updated educational resource that continues to serve as a memorable attraction for visitors.
